I'm addicted to soda myself. And as hard as I try, I can't give it up. I think even if I diet, I have to allow myself my soda.

I've cut my soda intake in half. Keep bottled water on hand and find a juice you really like. I love the cranberry blends over ice. Caffeine free tea also....

Wow, me too. I'm not really confident that I can completey give up my Cherry Coke. On the days I don't go to work I won't be tempted to go by Moto and get the fountain cc. BUT on Monday & Thursday, it'll be hard to make it thru the day w/o it!

I've been told by friends and family that my veins must be running with Mt. Dew instead of blood. One guy I work for started to drink diet Mt. Dew and Dr. Pepper, a couple of weeks ago, and was trying to convience me that it really isn't the worse stuff in the world. At one point I was drinking the diet Mt. Dew and regular mixed 1/2 & 1/2, that did make it more tolerable, but wasn't really the answer. I need to get in the habit of filling my thermo cup with water again and taking that with me instead of just grabbing a pop on the run.

I'm addicted too.
It used to be one bottle a day...but now I've cut it down to one can a day. I'm thinking about buying a blender so that I can make fruit smoothies instead.....I actually did give up pop at one time (cold turkey), but then my friend bought me a bottle one day, and it screwed me up.
Does anyone have any tips of kicking this crap?

I used to be a Dr Pepper addict. When I stated trying to lose weight in 2003 that was the first thing to go becuase I was intaking so many calories in liquid form. I thought if I am going to consume calories they are going to be in food form. I gave myself the option of Diet Dr Pepper or no pop at all. It worked!

I've tried diet soda but I think it tastes AWFUL! I am truly addicted to soda. That is one thing I don't think I could completely give up. I love fountain soda. I can drink A LOT of that. I usually drink about 3 cans a day.
I tried drinking those Crystal Lite mix in things for about 2 or so weeks but I thought they had an aftertaste. I can never stick with going without soda.

I'm a diet pop drinker myself but I know that many say that's still bad for weight loss and of course the caffeine isn't great either. I have managed to get down to one can a day but can't give it up. It tough!

roherynn, the only thing that I found that helps me is to always keep water in front of me, like literally try to drown myself with water so that I can't think about putting anyother liquid in my body! lol
